Goals of the BIG TEN TOUR Participants
It's always important to have something to strive for. Yes, we're all trying to visit all 11 Big Ten Stadiums, but we have some other serious and not-so-serious goals as well. Enjoy!
Wes' Goals
- Enjoy the taste of Bud Light Lime in 8 different states (there goes our Miller sponsor)
- Make "Backstreet Boys" acceptable tailgating music
- Visit the state of Iowa and see what all the hoopla is about
- Attempt to collect all of the stories into some sort of volume (book, website, etc)
- Try to avoid bankruptcy
Drew's Goals
- Not get arrested. I've managed to successfully do this throughout life, but gee, 11 or 12 weekends of tailgating, bars, and travel...you get the picture.
- I want a Wikipedia entry made about me/my tours. I'm one of the few guys who did most without any financing. Heck, I rode a big-wheel down Lombard street, don't I deserve one?
- I'd like to get 500,000 visits to my website.
- Have Mike Greenberg respond to an email about our visit to Northwestern (Mike & Mike in the morning on ESPN).
- Most of all, I'd like to have fun with my friends. During my MLB tour, I was learning the nuances of travel & rushing through a Master's degree. During the NBA tour, I was constantly kissing the asses of NBA front office members & traveling through some of the worst weather in U.S. history. I'd like my friends from around the country to stop in midwest for a game. Optimally I'll make a lot of new friends, create some great new stories, provide a mildly entertaining blog, & enjoy the ride.
Blake's Goals
- To sit inside every Big 10 stadium and witness a game
- Make some of the sweetest road trip mix tapes that ears could beg for
- Expand current friendships and create new ones
- Try a different local micro-brew in each city
- Take some of the coolest "selfies" of all-time. (A "selfie" is a flip of the wrist & taking a picture of yourself.
- Gain an appreciation & understanding for how physically demanding the gridiron game is, & why I would not be a good outside linebacker/fullback in a capacity that is not the annual "Backyard Snowbowl."
- Pending how quickly my hair grows back (cut for a triathalon) - getting it braided on at least one campus.
- Create a dance move for each campus.
- Collect some sort of memorabilia from each campus featuring the mascot.
- Never stop smiling!
Jeff's Goals
- To attend all 11 stadiums and the Rose Bowl
- Dominate Bucky the Badger in arm wrestling and tell him "I drive truck, break arms, and arm wrestle. It's what I love to do, it's what I do best."
- Take in everything each school has to offere & take it in with some great people.
- (If) when Iowa wins the Big 10 championship, shave my beard before we go to Pasadena (which would be a big deal considering we've never been able to get him to shave it).
Dan's Goals
- Hitting all 11 Big Ten schools is small potatoes for me. I'm working on my Big Ten residency badge. Having lived in Iowa, Minnesota, & Wisconsin, I'm only 5 states away from taking home the prize.
