Unfortunately, our travels are certain to have us butting heads with some negative people, places, and/or circumstances.  We'd like to recognize them here, so that our readers don't walk into the same problems.  We urge our readers to stay away from anything mentioned on this page.  A perfect example of #1 on the all-time hall of shame is the Boston Celtics organization.  We can only hope that this page will remain empty throughout the duration of the season.

Hotels.com - We urge everyone to avoid using hotels.com when booking anything.  We could spend hours telling you why NOT to use their service, but we'll attempt to summarize below.  In their advertising, they claim to send out a team to each hotel to make sure that the hotels are "up to standards.  The hotel they sold us had holes in the wall, mold everywhere, terrible customer service, thilthy linens, and lights that didn't work.  So they'll basically sell you rooms that pose health and/or safety risks and claim its the hotel's responsibility for maintenance.  When we asked the customer service rep if he would sell toys that were hazardous to children in his store, he responded by saying that hotels.com was not responsible for monitoring the lodging that it sells.  When we told them that we wanted another room, we were informed that we would have to wait until the next day AND we would have to pay an additional fee if there wasn't a room available for the same price.  That's right, they won't accommodate you if something is clearly wrong with your reservation without paying an additional fee.  Bottom line, they'll sell you any room, unsafe/unhealthy/uncomfortable or not, and then put the burden of solving the problem on you or the hotel.  Stay away!
