Harrisburg, PA
After returning home from State College, PA on Sunday night, the team took some time to check out the sights of Pennsylvania's state capital. Below are some of the highlights...
The exploration began on City Island. This island actually lies between Harrisburg and Wormleysburg & contains a variety of fun activities including Harrisburg Senators baseball (AA affiliate of the Montreal Expos, er Washington Nationals), Semi-Pro Football, a cement beach, mini water golf, carosel, train rides, kite shops, batting cages, river boat rides and more.
As you can imagine, Jeff Harris was thrilled to be in Harrisburg! He was even more excited when he found the home of his long, lost cousin - John Harris. Blake and Jeff made some fantasy football trades at this post known as the John Harris Trading Post.
Before playing some water golf, the guys spotted a gem. As you may or may not know, the BIG 10 TOUR is searching for the best facial hair in Big Ten Country. As you look at the photo to the left, you'll be reminded that the 80's are not dead!
The guys then stubled upon a Pow-Wow...and wow, was there some entertainment here. Below you'll see Blake trying on a Rocawear jean jacket with a wolf on the back. That's right, a Rocawear jacket selling for over $100 at a Native American festival. What is the world coming to? Below that, you'll find a video of Jeff practicing his hachet throwing. This would become an invaluable learning experience for Jeff as it's often difficult to find food on a cold Milwaukee night.
After crossing the bridge into Harrisburg, the team took part in some Kipona activities. Jeff and Blake were the big winners, taking home Safari hats. After walking around the capital building for a bit, we took in the night life of 2nd Street Harrisburg for a few hours before turning in for the evening.
