Illinois Tailgate
Despite what was easily the toughest weather we've experienced to date, we had another wild day of tailgating. After our 4+ hour drive after leaving at 6 AM, we arrived in Champaign shortly after 11 AM. We found our way to Lot #33, paid our $20, parked in the grass and set up shop.
Joining us on this weekend would be Debbie Smith (grad of Illinois), Chrysan Smith (grad of Illinois), Doug H (grad of Vanderbilt), Sarah F (grad of Penn State), Greg (grad of Illinois), and Adrienne B (grad of Wisconsin). While the guys primarly stuck to their beer, the girls brought a case of champagne to Champaign. *As of 10/8/09, we are changing the last names to "Smith" for everyone that is concerned that appearing on this blog will make others think less of them (sheep). On the other hand, we think that if a web-search supercedes your actual talent, you've got bigger problems than your name appearing on our blog.
When everyone was drinking it, they loved it...however when the bill came out for it all Big 10 Tour members suddenly "didn't intentionally drink any" resulting in the 33rd financial argument of the tour.

Of course, it was just a matter of time until the tailgate games got put on stage.
If you haven't seen it already, you've got to check out our Tailgate game page.
After 5 weeks of throwing bean bags, tossing lassos and such, we're getting pretty good at these games. Anyone want to challenge us in the future? If you beat the team of Drew and Jeff at any future Big 10 Tour location, we'll give you a free Big 10 Tour tshirt.

Of course, it never hurts to have a restroom near the tailgate (all that champagne, beer, and liquor has to go somewhere).
For reasons unbeknownst to us, the bathrooms were particularly exciting today. Wait a second, was the word "unbeknowst" just used? Anyways, you had to be a pretty big deal to use the facilities today. Apparently there was a "Private Tailgate Toilet" that you had to pay $50 to use. The things that potty must've done for you while you were in there!

Can U spot Doug Howard?
Oh yeah...then there's this flip-cup tournament we've been running for 5 consecutive weekends now. Yeah, it's definitely getting kind of old and we'll probably have to put flaming corn cobs on the table to spice things up next weekend in Iowa...but until then...

Burnt Sausage...very
Unfortunately no one invited us to have some of their food this week...annnnnndd as a result, our food looked kind of like the food shown at the side of this paragraph.
We did have some "food excitement" however that in no way relates to Champaign or Illinois University. Debbie & Chrysan tried their first-ever cheese curds. What's a cheese curd you say?
