Indiana Sights

Week 10 took us back to the state of Indiana.  Back when we were building the schedule, I dreamt up something I called "Ultimate Sports Weekend."  Now I'm sure hundreds of thousands of you have come up with better "sports-inspired" weekends, but this was the one I dreamed up.  I asked the guys to take the day off on Friday so that we could get down to Indianapolis and enjoy multiple sporting events rather than just a single one.

So to start off, take a look at some of the sights we saw while in Indiana HERE!

Purdue Once More

Picture
As our travels took us through West Lafayette once more, I thought that it might be a good opportunity to stop in and see some of the sights that I was deprived of during my original visit to Purdue.  Once again, time was against us, but at least I got to stop in at Harry's Chocolate Shop this time.  Read about our experience at Harry's HERE!

Indy Motor Speedway

Picture
Our first stop of the day was more racing inspired.  Unfortunately there weren't any live races to watch on a Friday afternoon in November, but we did get to look around.  Check out our stop at the Indy Motor Speedway HERE!

Indiana Pacers

Picture
I've quoted Conseco Fieldhouse as being the best NBA arena on many occasions so I felt that I had to show the guys what basketball could be like outside of the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.  The Washington Wizards were in town and we were only a few rows up from all of the action.  Read about the Pacers game HERE!

Indiana Tailgate

Picture
Open fields, warm weather, and lots of beverages.  Perfect ingredients for a tailgate atmosphere that would continue even when the sun turned in for the day.  If we told you that you'd be in a photo on our blog, you'll probably find it here.  Read all about our tailgate experience HERE!

Indiana Game

10 weeks in and this would be the only Big 10 Football team that we had not seen to date.  During the previous week, we saw the visiting Badgers.  This game gave the crowd many things to cheer about.  I even had the opportunity to meet the Hoosier basketball coach during the game.  Read about our experience at Memorial Stadium HERE!

Indiana Drinks

Picture
Bloomington has some of the most reputable bars in the Big 10 and we definitely had to make some time to stop in at a few of them.  Find how how to "Sink the Biz" and some of the other Hoosier drink concoctions HERE!

Indianapolis Colts

Picture
The big weekend would conclude by stopping at Lucas Oil Stadium which is one of the newest in the NFL.  The Colts were undefeated but the up-and-coming Texans were in town for what turned out to be a great game.  I snapped some photos of the great new facility that you can see HERE!

Shirt of the Week

Picture
This week's winner goes to one of our own - Wes!  When we were hunting for tickets to the Colts game, Wes runs back to us, excited and all, to which we ask, "Did you find tickets?"  His response, "No, but I talked this guy down to $5.00 on this great t-shirt!"  Let me remind you that the Colts were playing the Texans on this very day and in fact do not even play the Cowboys once this season.

Next up, girls who were clearly Sorry For Partying!  One of them has a button pinned on the back of her jeans - really walking on the wildside there!

A play of the "Live United" slogan from United Way, stating that "United We Tailgate."

Our friend who had the guts to wear his Space Camp sweatshirt 18 years later is also a winner in our books.

A friend who reminds us of to "Be Scared of B-Squared."

A shirt that shows 4 guys who were lost on a roadtrip to Bloomington in 2007.

and finally a Badger fan makes the board for his "Wiscompton" School of "Bidness."

Vehicle of the Week

Picture
Traveling during the day on both occasions allowed us to spot many vehicles along the way.  There's quite the list, so here's a short description of each.

The winner:  Minivan driving through Hammond, IN with no license plate.

A pickup truck spotted in Chicago with the license plate "Baby G" and a large pink Chiwawa sticker on the back.  Usually these types are driving Mini Coopers or something more feminine than a Toyota Tundra.

The Hot Box Pizza (Purdue University) Smart Car that lets you know that it is a car.

Chevrolet Beretta with all sorts of ribbons on it.

John Deere combine that has no business on the highway.

Fabio Look-Alike of the Week

Picture
I spotted this guy front row at the Pacers game.  I originally thought that he would compete in the Best Facial Hair competition, but this guy was clearly above and beyond that category.
