Minnesota Roadtrip

Picture
Another weekend, another crappy vehicle to get us to our destination.  This time, a Chevrolet Cavalier.....ohhhhh....ahhh...

While a long one, the trip from Milwaukee to Minneapolis is a relatively easy one.  You basically get on 94W and take that the whole way to Minneapolis.  Jeff and I took Friday off work, but we were still up at 6 AM in hopes of getting to into town by 1 PM (turned out to be 3 PM).

On the way up, we stopped in Black River Falls, WI because you drive by and say "Gee, I'd like to stop there" and never do.  This time we did.

Worthless GPS (we are the blue diamond)
And then we saw a sign for a brewery tour.  Like two children passing a toy store, we begged each other to stop.  It was only 15-20 minutes out of the way.  The only issue was that to get there, we had to take a lot of newly constructed roads and Drew's lazy/cheap ass had not updated the maps on the GPS lately.  So as you'll see on the photo off to the side, the GPS thought we were in a field and we basically got there the old-fashioned way - taking wrong turns, following signs, and asking for help.

Eventually we made it to the Leinenkugel Brewery Tour.   Thank god is was free!

Unfortunately this tour fails in two ways.   They don't take your take your beer sample on the tour and they don't let you take pictures inside the facility.

New Fashion
Our tour guide told a bunch of lame jokes throughout the tour and Drew says it's the most boring tour he's been on to date.  But we were laughing at something.  Some older gentleman on the tour was trying out a new fashion trend - the underwear outside your pants over your shirt look.  We bet it  catches on cause every woman on the tour was eyeing him up!

The leaves are a turnin'
Shortly after leaving the brewery, Drew's mufler went downhill in a hurry.  The car started sounding like the cars the high-school kids drive around with the loud aftermarket mufflers.  Just a few minute later, Jeff's hand was hanging out the window and collided with a bug (yeah, we're really stretching for highlights here).

We eventually made it to Minneapolis.  On the way home, our enthusiasm was significantly diminished.  We commented on how the leaves were finally starting to turn fall colors.  Oh great, now we're going to start having to deal with the cold weather games.  Below you'll see an interesting gas station sign, a real-life tractor trailer!  Below that you'll see that Jeff stayed out late Saturday night and was a bit tired on the way home.  Apparently pillows are in short supply.
