Michigan State Tailgate

Inflatable Sparty
Finding an adequate spot to tailgate at MSU was a tough challenge. It seemed that in order to actually drink any adult beverages near your vehicle before the game, you either needed a speical pass or needed to park far away and take a shuttle. Thanks to the help of Harriett Dean, we needed to do neither as her, Jerome, and Lee invited us to join their party!
Forget the truck, they bring a bus to every home game. They literally roll out a bar, a grill, DOZENS of chairs, a few tables, tents, and most importantly a high-def tv and satellite dish.

Inside the Bus

Tom Izzo autograph
The inside of the bus didn't have just another paint job. Harriett and Lee have had many many Spartan players "sign the bus" and even basketball coach Tom Izzo has stopped in to get an autograph. In what has been our greatest honor of the tour, we were also invited to sign the bus.

Finger tattoos
A book was also contained within the bus that showed photos of players stopping by as well as notes from many visiting tailgaters. Upon trying to sign the book, the pen exploded in Drew's hands...I guess they were hoping that a Michigan fan would try to sign it? Either way, Blake picked up the slack and left a note.
The Food
This particular day was yet another one of Drew's birthday. Upon our arrival, Harriett had a birthday cake waiting, which was another moment of "Wow, the great people you meet when you travel!"
At Penn State, we kept it to burgers and Potato Chips. Here, it got a little more elaborate. Okay, A LOT more elaborate.

Some good sportsmanship going on as the Michigan State and Central Michigan fans are hanging out together.
It officially became a tradition here as we created yet another flip-cup tournament. This time, spectators from all walks of life surronded the table.
Wolverines

Wolverine = roadkill
We all know about the rivalries in college football, but the Michigan and Michigan State has to be one of the best! We think its safe to say that the MSU fans aren't too fond of the Wolverines. So of the fans passing by chanted "F*** ... Those ... Wolverines....F*** Those Wolverines!" The "Big House" in Ann Arbor..well, they refer to it as "The Outhouse." Pretty funny stuff.
Even funnier? Maybe you want to check out the Wolverine mascot under the tire in the attached photo or listen in the video below. Roughly every 15 minutes, we'd find out what time it was and whether or not a certain team from Ann Arbor was any good?

A big THANK YOU to Harriett Dean for making our MSU tailgate experience a great one! It must have been a good day when the shown trashcan became a graveyard for overused tailgate chairs!
