Ohio Roadtrip

No doubt about it; the Ohio roadtrip was the worst to date.  Penn State was longer distance, but using an airplane for most of the distance made it tolerable.  This trip however, would take over 8 hours and part of it would be sitting in Chicago traffic each way.

So while the way there was primarily in the dark, the trip home allowed us to see all kinds of things.  It started out as we left Columbus with quite possibly the largest nativity scene I've ever witnessed.  The camels alone were each over 8 feet tall.

As we merged onto the highway, I noticed that the trees had completely lost their leaves in many places.  Not a bad way to spend 11 weeks huh?  From the first week where everything in Penn State was green and full of leaves to the final week where the tree had turned bare.

I wasn't aware of it, but apparently Findlay, OH is "Flag City USA."  I didn't see any flags while passing through, but I'll take their word for it.

Shortly after passing through Findlay, I tried to merge into the left lane when I noticed that my view was obstructed.  Of course there is no better place to set your Burger King bag than in one of the driver's blind spots!

Due to some construction in Indiana that cost us 2.5 hours the week prior, we drove up through northern Ohio and across the top of the state on the turnpike.  After about 7 minutes on the Ohio turnpike, I remembered my hatred for these driving routes.  Nothing to see on either side of you!  Below shows the best I could come up with!

After leaving the Indiana tollway, we saw Chicago once again.  There is no bigger relief than knowing that I don't have to drive through this mess again anytime soon!

I looked back and noticed Jeff taking a nap - I think about how much I want to get home and take a nap.

Finally, I spot the Wisconsin Welcome sign and am thrilled to know that I'm home once again and another tour is in the books!
