Ohio State Tailgate

Brutus lives!
Due to the riots of year's past, I was told that the tailgating at Ohio State is a bit more reserved. This was one place that I didn't notice bottle and cans lying around everywhere. The fans were a little more contained as a result.
The rowdiest fans that I saw were the ones shown below who got out their Bic lighter and lit an Iowa Hawkeye flag on fire. I was hoping that their "playing with fire" would result in some more excitement, but apparently they learned from Smokey the Bear in elementary school.

Hineygate is one of the best traditions of Ohio State prior to a game. Recently the Hineygate tradition has been slowed, but there are still some satellite Hineygates going on. I stopped by at one of them and was provide a lot of entertainment. The music was phenomenal and after my "teammates" exposed me to nothing but hip-hop on our road trips, I welcomed this music with open arms.
Below you'll see a video of some kids dancing to the Danger Brothers. You'll also note that some of the female fans get a little excited when this band performs.

Back at the tailgate, some of the the Ohio State fans had brought over a newer tailgate game. The game involved a frisbee and was called Kan Jam. To be honest, it seemed rather lame and I turned my attention back to the real tailgating game.
Over 11 weeks, I realized that there is no better tailgate game than bean bags/tailgate toss/cornholde. I saw all sorts of bean bags boards today such as the American/Canadian board to the right, a Michigan/Ohio board and much more. For my money, however the these boards are still the best.

Tailgate table
Of course, the tailgate table was also used with many of our new friends. Games of flip-cup, tailgate pong and more were introduced to get the crowd a bit more rowdy.
While traveling all through the Big 10, we heard that Ohio State fans were the worst. That seemed far from the truth after a day in Columbus. Every fan I met or reached out to was just wonderful. Thank you to all of the Buckeye fans for such a great day!
