Wisconsin Tailgate

Do I see Purdue colors?
We were fortunate enough to have Tom Martin invite us to tailgate with his crew before the Badger game & their tailgate location was phenomenal; just two blocks from the stadium!
At about 6:30 or 7 AM that morning, a co-worker named Aaron called me and informed me that he could not find Jeff. This was of great misfortunate because Jeff had some of our tickets, our beer, and would not be present for an interview with the local CBS affiliate. This essentially marked the end of my motivation to keep pushing these guys on the Big 10 Tour. Blake was now out with injury, Wes had once more found something better to do, and the lone remaining participant who had completed it all with me failed to recognize what was at stake & decided another night of the same old people and same old places in Milwaukee was not more important than letting your team down.

Luckily, part-time tour member Dan Lawrence joined me for the action and both Tom and Tony filled in nicely in the spots of the others. I did really feel like an ass when the local news team showed up to interview the Big 10 Tour members and I was the only one from the main group present.
Tom was more than happy to fill in for the others and speak to the local news team.

The Badgers come marching in
To start things off right, members of the band stopped by for a photo. As you can tell by their scarves, gloves, and knit caps - it was one of the colder days of the tour.
Tony, one of our hosts, also brought his newborn to the tailgate (shown below). WHen hanging out with friends years from now, this kid will be able to say, "Man, I've been tailgating since I was like...less than ONE!"

She's a bit taller than me
Also tailgating with us today was late 1960's model Cynthia Myers and Kyle, the dude who won the contest for best fan on the Hogan knows best television show.
The day was filled with cold weather, beverages, and of course many of the tailgate games that you've seen us carry around all year. By now, I'm getting pretty damn good at this stuff.

The location of this tailgate was particularly great because many fans en route to the game would pass us and there was no shortness of interesting characters!
Jeff eventually made it just before game time, but a special thanks to this group of folks to was ready to give us their additional tickets free of charge rather than sell them for the $80.00 that they eventually got for them. +1 for Badger fans!
It was that time once again, and we began our March towards Camp Randall Stadium!

An extra thanks to Tom Martin, Bonez, and the crew for hosting us and filling in as Big 10 Tour members! I hope to join you next year for your trip to Iowa!
